Tavros was so surprised by the fact Karkat had screamed at him that it shocked him out of crying. He stared at Karkat in disbelief, his eyes wide and very scared. He fought to process everything Karkat had said, because he was just so... he just couldn't believe Karkat had screamed at him like that. He could barely even register what Karkat had said.

But when he finally did put everything together, he just felt like even more surprised, even more in absolute disbelief. He couldn't- he just... How could Karkat think that? After everything, how could Karkat think he was lying, that it didn't mean anything to him?

He opened his mouth to speak, but his voice came out so very small because he was just... so afraid. And even more than that, he was hurt. It hurt to think that Karkat could actually believe that.. "It meant everything to me..."
